Project: BeTheVillage Foster Care support volunteer

Location: Seacoast of NH - Strafford county

Description:

The specific needs of individual foster children are always changing. But there are some needs we can predict. All children removed from their first family suffer from trauma of varying degrees. That trauma often results in an increased need for focused attention and love. We want to help foster parents be able to provide this attention.

The families that say yes to children coming to their home have no idea what to expect, but they say yes anyway. They say yes to the child's trauma. They say yes to co-parenting with people they do not know. They say yes to loving a child who may not love them back.
