The Dover Mental Health Alliance (DMHA) was born from community members with a shared interest, from across all sectors, to tackle the stigma of mental illness and shine a light on the importance of recognizing that our mental health is just as important as our physical health.
A Community Conversation
The City of Dover’s first responders, emergency departments, social service entities and schools are facing an increase in mental health related crises. Communities across the country are facing the same reality. Listen in where experts from Dover, NH what the mental health response looks like right now, the challenges and areas of success, and what the next steps are moving forward. Here are all three community forums/conversations that illustrate the work of the DMHA Task Force Subcommittee which has been working to develop a set of recommendations that reflect trends, obstacles, opportunities, and best practices to follow as they relate to ongoing the City response to mental health related calls for service and needs.
Responsibilities:
Attend a monthly meeting, held the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 8:30-10 am at the Dover Police Station.
Advocate for mental health stigma elimination and participate in various community outreach events including suicide prevention training and mental health first aid.
Time commitment:
Monthly meeting. Varies beyond that based on events and selected opportunities.

Varies.

The desire to be a part of building a resilient community that is educated, responsive and conscious of the impact of mental illness.
